BERG PlayBase Climbing Net
A full-width rope net that spans the frame — the climb that younger children manage before they can handle a wall, and the one they keep using long after.
Matched to your frame size. M for the Medium, L for the Large, XL for the Extra Large.
Which size do you need?
| Net | Fits | Frame span | Weight |
|---|---|---|---|
| Climbing net M | PlayBase Medium | 4 bars | 3kg |
| Climbing net L | PlayBase Large | 6 bars | 4kg |
| Climbing net XL | PlayBase Extra Large | 8 bars | 8.2kg |
The net runs the full width of the frame, so it has to match. Ordering an L for a Medium won't work, and neither will the reverse.
There's no version for the Wall frame. If you've a Wall and want climbing, the climbing wall is the one — it clamps on and fits every frame.
Not sure which frame you have? Send us a photo and we'll tell you.

Net or wall?
They're different climbs and plenty of families end up with both.
A net is more forgiving. It gives under weight, the holds are everywhere, and a three-year-old can make progress on it straight away. It's also the one children hang off, sit in and treat as a den.
A wall is a proper climb. Fixed holds, no give, and a route that can be made harder as they improve. It's the one that keeps an eight-year-old interested.
Practical difference: the net spans the whole frame and is size-specific. The wall clamps on, fits any frame, and takes up far less of it.
What it's for
Climbing, obviously — and it's genuinely good for coordination and grip, because no two holds are in the same place twice.
Hanging and sitting. A net isn't just a way up. Children sit in them, hang off the underside, and use them as the wall of whatever the frame has become that afternoon.
Getting to the top bar. On a frame with monkey bars or a trapeze, the net is how a smaller child reaches them.
100kg user weight, so it doesn't stop working when they're fourteen.
Space and surface
Grass at the base rather than paving. Children come off nets, usually deliberately.
Keep the area behind it clear too — the net gives under weight, so a climber ends up further back than you'd expect.
Worth adding
- Climbing wall — the harder climb, with holds you can reposition
- Gym rings — grip and hanging, and adults use them too
- Fitness rope — another way up and another grip challenge
- Wooden trapeze — for what they do once they're up there
