A 14ft trampoline is 430cm across — the biggest standard round size for a home garden, with a 120kg user weight limit and room for proper tricks. It suits big families, teenagers, and adults who'll actually use it.

Will it fit your garden?

Settle this before anything else. A 14ft needs 2 metres of clear space on every side, so you want 8.5m × 8.5m of flat clear ground.

Measure before you order. A 14ft in a garden that can't take it is the one size mistake that can't be worked around — you can't shave a foot off it later.

Check overhead too. Branches, washing lines and cables all matter at this size, because people genuinely get height on a 14ft.

14ft or 12.5ft?

Half a metre more ground gets you a noticeably bigger mat, 16 more springs and the highest weight limit BERG offers on a round. If you have 8.5m, take the 14ft — it's the size teenagers don't outgrow.

Which range?

Above ground, inground or flatground?

Above ground, a 430cm frame stands about 105cm tall with a net on top. In Irish wind that's a considerable sail, which makes anchoring non-negotiable at this size.

InGround drops the mat to 10-20cm above the lawn. Far less wind to catch, a shorter fall, and no ladder needed. The pit is 75cm deep and the hole is 390cm across, narrower than the frame.

FlatGround sits completely flush. A metre-deep pit the full 430cm width, which is around 9 cubic metres of soil — a job for an installer with a digger.

Anchor it

Irish wind moves unanchored trampolines, and storm damage to an unanchored trampoline isn't covered by the warranty. Fit ground anchors the day you assemble it and check them after every named storm.

One at a time

Whatever the size, one jumper at a time is the safest rule. Most trampoline injuries happen with several children on the mat, because a heavier jumper transfers energy into a lighter one. If more than one is on it, keep them similar in size.

Assembly

Allow four to six hours and get three people if you can — two on the frame, one managing parts. A spring puller tool is worth having at 128 springs. Ring us mid-assembly if you get stuck.

Bigger than 14ft?

If 8.5m square is comfortable rather than tight, the oval and rectangular models are worth a look. The Grand Champion oval is 17 × 11.4ft and needs 9.2m × 7.5m — less width than a 14ft round, more length. See rectangular trampolines for the Ultim range.
