BERG PlayBase Wall

The most compact PlayBase. It mounts against a structural wall — a house, garage or shed — rather than standing free, so it needs 1.2m of wall and very little ground.

If your garden hasn't the space for a freestanding frame, this is the one that still works.

The 400kg is a total load rather than per person, which is why several children can use it at once — unlike a trampoline, where one at a time is the rule.

What it needs

A structural wall — brick or block, load-bearing. A house wall, garage or solid shed. Not a fence, not a timber panel, not a hollow partition.

About 4m × 3m of clear space in front for swinging and climbing.

Three carabiner points

Fewer than the freestanding frames, which have four to eight. Most accessories use two carabiners, so three points is one swing-type accessory plus a single-point item — rings and a boxing bag, say.

That's the trade for the footprint, and for one or two children or an adult training it's usually enough.

Rings and a boxing bag is a complete outdoor gym on its own.

Every accessory fits

Swings, climbing wall, climbing net, gym rings, trapeze, basketball hoop, soccer goal, boxing bag, dip bar, pull-up bar, fitness rope, resistance bands, baby seat, nest swing, platform and slide — all of them fit this frame.

The one exception across the range is the hammock, which needs the Large frame.

TL, TT or LL?

The frames come with different top sections:

• TL — tumble bar and ladder. The most popular by a distance, and what we'd suggest if you're unsure.
• TT — two tumble bars. For children who spend their time spinning and hanging rather than climbing.
• LL — two ladders. Monkey-bar style, for climbing and traversing.

Available in green or black.

The PlayBase range

Every frame is 1m deep and 2.45m high. What changes is the width — and the number of carabiner points. Most accessories use two, so the carabiner count roughly halves into swing-type items.
