Springfree Trampolines Ireland

No springs. No hard frame at the mat edge. Nothing rigid where a jumper can reach it. Springfree replaced the metal springs with flexible composite rods beneath the mat, hid the frame below the jumping surface, and built the enclosure from flexible poles rather than rigid ones.

We're Ireland's only authorised Springfree stockist — the only place on the island selling genuine Springfree trampolines with full Irish warranty support.

How the springless design works

Springfree's own claim is that their design has eliminated 90% of product-related trampoline injuries compared to conventional spring trampolines. Here's what's actually different:

Flexible composite rods instead of springs. They sit beneath the mat, out of reach. No exposed metal, no pinch points for fingers and toes.

SoftEdge mat. Where a conventional trampoline has padding over a steel frame at the mat edge, Springfree has an engineered mat edge that Springfree rates as 30 times more shock-absorbent than standard padding.

Hidden frame. The galvanised steel frame sits well below the jumping surface. On a standard trampoline the frame is at mat level — a direct hazard if a jumper reaches the edge.

FlexiNet enclosure. Flexible rod supports rather than rigid metal poles. A jumper who hits the net is cushioned and guided back toward the centre.

The story behind Springfree

Springfree was founded in 2003 by Dr Keith Alexander, a New Zealand engineer who was concerned about the safety of conventional trampolines — specifically the metal frame and springs that cause injury when someone lands on them.

After years of development he arrived at a design with no springs at all: flexible composite rods positioned below the jumping surface, absorbing energy and giving a more even bounce. Springfree trampolines are now sold in over 30 countries.

Springfree for children with autism and sensory needs

Trampolining is one of the most therapeutic activities available for children with autism, sensory processing differences and related conditions. The rhythmic motion regulates the nervous system, the proprioceptive input provides calming sensory feedback, and the sheer joy of bouncing is something almost every child responds to.

This isn't abstract knowledge for us. We co-founded Bounce for Autism in 2022 with BERG and the Irish Society for Autism, and have donated trampolines to over 50 special schools across Ireland. We've spoken to hundreds of parents about what works and what doesn't.

Why Springfree suits sensory needs particularly well

No hard edges anywhere. Children with autism are often drawn to the edges of a trampoline — the springs, the frame, the net poles. On a conventional trampoline that's where injuries happen. On a Springfree there is physically nothing rigid to run into.

Softer, more predictable bounce. The composite rods deliver a smoother bounce than metal springs. For children who find unpredictable sensory input distressing, that consistency matters — no sudden change in tension, no uneven spots, no spring snap.

Quieter in use. Metal springs creak and squeak, particularly as they age. A rodless system is close to silent. For children with auditory sensitivities that's a real difference.

Easier to get on and off. The FlexrStep ladder and low entry profile reduce the frustration of transitions and make access simpler for children with coordination challenges.

Built to last. Many children with autism use their trampoline intensively, daily, for years. The 10-year warranty on all parts means it grows with the child.

What we'd recommend

For most families the R79 (10ft Round) or the O77 (8 × 11ft Oval) — generous jumping space, the full safety system, and they fit the majority of Irish gardens. The oval suits two children sharing, since the length gives them separate space.

If the garden is tight, the R54 (8ft Round) gives the full Springfree safety system in a compact footprint.

Ring us on 01 960 1641 to talk through which model suits your child. We've had this conversation many times and we're glad to help — and if it would be useful to speak to someone who's fitted these in special school settings, that's us.

Why buy your Springfree from us

Springfree can be ordered directly from springfree.com. Here's why buying here is the better option.

Ireland's only authorised stockist. Not a grey-market reseller — Springfree's official Irish partner. Your warranty is valid, your parts are genuine, and your purchase is backed by Springfree's manufacturer support as well as ours.

Stock held in Ireland. Ordering direct means international shipping with longer lead times. We hold Irish stock and deliver free to all 32 counties on orders over €300, usually within 48 hours.

You get a person, not a ticket. Ring 01 960 1641 and you're talking to someone who knows your order. If something arrives damaged, if you're stuck during assembly, or if you need a part in three years, that's the same number.

Warranty handled here. Springfree's 10-year warranty is excellent, but claims have to go somewhere. We handle them directly on your behalf — no posting products overseas, no waiting on international logistics.

Parts sourced for you. A Springfree lasts a long time, and over that time you may need a mat rod, a FlexiNet section or a SoftEdge mat. We order any Springfree part from the UK, usually within 7 to 10 days. We also run a collection service for warranty replacements.

The price is the same as buying direct — you simply get Irish delivery, Irish support and Irish warranty handling with it.

Common questions

Which model should I buy?

Garden shape decides it more than anything. Round for a square plot, oval for a strip, square for the most mat in a square footprint. Send us your dimensions and we'll tell you which fits.

Springfree or BERG?

Different arguments, and we sell both so we've no reason to push one. BERG gives you more shapes, sizes and installation options, and better value for the size. Springfree has no metal springs and no hard frame at the mat edge, which is the strongest safety case on the market.

Can it stay out all year?

Yes — built for year-round outdoor use. Fit ground anchors on any exposed site.

How long does assembly take?

A two-person job, and longer than a spring trampoline because each rod is fitted individually under tension. Springfree's free BILT app gives 3D step-by-step guidance and is considerably easier than the paper manual.

What about spare parts in a few years?

We order any Springfree part — see Springfree replacement parts. Parts are model-specific, so keep your model code somewhere.
