Springfree Shifting Wheels

A pair of wheels that slip under the trampoline legs so one adult can move the whole thing single-handed. Fit them, tilt, roll it aside, cut the grass, roll it back.

Why you'll want them

This is the accessory people don't think about until the second summer, when there's a circle of yellow grass under the trampoline and mowing round it has become a fortnightly nuisance.

A Springfree is heavy and awkward, and shifting one without wheels usually means two people, a lot of shuffling, and a real chance of dragging the legs across the lawn. The wheels turn it into a one-person job that takes a couple of minutes.

Beyond the mowing, they're useful for:

• Letting the grass recover — move it a few feet every month or two and you won't get a permanent bald patch
• Moving it out of the wind before a storm, or into shelter for the winter
• Repositioning after you've lived with it — most people put a trampoline in the wrong spot first time

Fitting and use

The wheels slide under the legs, and no tools are needed. They're designed to be fitted for the move and taken off afterwards rather than left on — a trampoline standing permanently on wheels isn't stable, particularly in wind.

If yours is anchored, release the ground anchors before moving it and refit them once it's back in position. Don't leave it unanchored overnight.

Which models they fit

The shifting wheels work across the Springfree range — R54, R79, R132, O77, O92, S113 and the O200.

They earn their place most on the larger models. Moving a 13ft Jumbo Round or a 12ft × 19ft Jumbo Oval without them is genuinely a two-person job.
