Springfree S113 Large Square — 11ft

The only square in the Springfree range, and the shape that gets the most jumping area into a square garden. 113 square feet of mat — no springs, no hard frame edge, nothing at the mat edge to land on.

Will it fit your garden?

Springfree specifies 17ft × 17ft — about 5.2m × 5.2m — for the S113, including clearance.

Worth comparing against the round models, because this is where square earns its place. The R79 Medium Round needs 16ft × 16ft and gives 79 sq ft. The S113 needs one extra foot in each direction and gives 113 sq ft — 43% more mat for almost the same ground.

That's the argument. A square mat uses a square garden efficiently in a way a circle can't; a round trampoline wastes the corners.

Springfree rates the 113 sq ft jumping surface as comparable to a 14ft square spring trampoline, because a spring model loses a band around the outside to springs and padding that this doesn't have.

Square, round or oval?

It's decided by the shape of the ground, not by preference:

  • Square garden — the S113 gives the most mat for the footprint. 113 sq ft in a 17ft square.
  • Long narrow garden — an oval fits better. The O92 Large Oval gives 92 sq ft in 11ft × 16ft.
  • Square garden, less of it — the R79 Medium Round needs 16ft × 16ft for 79 sq ft.
  • Square garden, plenty of it — the R132 Jumbo Round gives 132 sq ft and needs 19ft × 19ft.

If you have the 17ft square, the S113 is a better use of it than the R79. If you have 19ft, the Jumbo Round is bigger again. Measure first.

Corners are usable space

The practical difference with a square mat is that the bounce works across the whole surface rather than pulling everything toward one centre point. Two children can use opposite ends without landing on each other, and there's a genuine run-up for anyone practising a skill.

The bounce itself is Springfree's: deeper and softer than a spring trampoline of equivalent size, because the composite rods deflect over a longer travel than a spring compresses. That's why it suits mixed ages — forgiving enough for a small child, responsive enough for a teenager.

What makes it a Springfree

  • Flexible composite mat rods instead of springs, beneath the mat and out of reach. No pinch points, and individually replaceable.
  • SoftEdge mat extending to the edge of the jumping area. Springfree rates it as 30 times more shock-absorbent than conventional safety padding.
  • Hidden galvanised steel frame, below and outside the jumping surface.
  • FlexiNet enclosure with flexible poles that cushion rather than stop, fitted inside the mat edge so nobody lands between mat and net.
  • 10-year warranty on all parts, not just the frame.

Springfree's own claim is that the design eliminates 90% of product-related trampoline injuries.

Assembly and siting

Around 65 rods to fit individually, each under tension. Allow proper time and two people. Springfree's free BILT app gives 3D step-by-step instructions with voice guidance and is far easier to follow than the paper manual at that stage.

Level ground matters — see our guide to levelling a Springfree on uneven ground if your lawn slopes. Fit ground anchors on any exposed or coastal site; a 9ft enclosure over an 11ft frame catches a lot of wind.

Common questions

S113 or R79 Medium Round?

One foot more in each direction gets you 43% more mat. If your garden takes 17ft × 17ft, the square is the better buy.

S113 or R132 Jumbo Round?

The Jumbo gives 132 sq ft against 113, and needs 19ft × 19ft against 17ft × 17ft. Two feet of ground for 19 sq ft of mat — worth it if you have the space.

Is a square trampoline safe?

Yes. There's no hard structure at any corner — the frame sits below the mat and the FlexiNet runs inside the mat edge, same as every Springfree. Corners are jumping surface, not hazard.

Can adults use it?

Yes — 700kg tested load, and at 11ft square there's room to move properly. One at a time, as on any trampoline.

Can I leave it out over winter?

Yes, it's built for year-round outdoor use. Keep leaves and standing water off the mat, and see our winter care guide if you'd rather pack it away.

What's the model code for parts?

S113. Note it somewhere — parts are model-specific, and the S113 came in builds with either 64 or 68 rods, so we'll ask you to count them if you don't have the serial number.

Not sure whether a square, round or oval suits your garden? Send us the dimensions of your flattest clear area and we'll tell you which fits and which gives you the most mat for the ground you have.
