Will it fit your garden?

Springfree specifies 11ft × 14ft — about 3.4m × 4.3m — for the O77, including clearance.

Compare that to the round models and the oval's advantage is obvious. The R79 Medium Round gives 79 sq ft and needs a 16ft × 16ft square. The O77 gives 77 sq ft — near enough the same — and needs 11ft × 14ft. Almost identical jumping area, considerably less ground, provided your space is longer than it is wide.

That's the whole case for an oval, and it's why this is the model we suggest most often when someone describes a long narrow garden.

Springfree rates the 77 sq ft jumping surface as comparable to a 10ft × 13ft spring oval, because a spring model loses a band around the outside to springs and padding that this doesn't have.

Why oval rather than round

Round trampolines suit square gardens. Most Irish back gardens aren't square — they're strips, often with a patio at one end and a shed at the other, leaving a long rectangle of usable lawn.

An oval mat matches that shape. You get the jumping area of a 10ft round in a footprint 5ft narrower, and the space you save is usually the dimension you're short of.

The bounce is the same. Same rods, same SoftEdge mat, same FlexiNet. The only difference is the outline.

Where it sits in the range

• O47 Compact Oval — 6ft × 9ft mat, 9ft × 12ft space. For younger children and the tightest gardens.
• O77 Medium Oval — 8ft × 11ft mat, 11ft × 14ft space. The all-rounder.
• O92 Large Oval — 8ft × 13ft mat, 11ft × 16ft space. Same width requirement as the O77, just 2ft longer, for 15 sq ft more mat.

That last point is worth pausing on. If you can find another 2 feet of length, the O92 is a meaningfully bigger trampoline for the same width. Measure before you decide.

Assembly and siting

The rods fit individually and are under tension, which is the fiddly part of any Springfree build. Springfree's free BILT app gives 3D step-by-step instructions with voice guidance and is much easier to follow than the paper manual.

Common questions

O77 or R79 Medium Round?

Almost identical jumping area — 77 sq ft against 79. The O77 needs 11ft × 14ft, the R79 needs 16ft × 16ft. If your garden is a square, take the round. If it's a strip, take the oval. That's genuinely the whole decision.

O77 or O92?

Same width requirement, 2ft more length for the O92, and 15 sq ft more mat. If you can find the length, take the O92.

Can adults use it?

Yes — 700kg tested load, and the springless bounce suits adults well. One at a time, as on any trampoline.

Can I leave it out over winter?

Yes, it's built for year-round outdoor use. Keep leaves and standing water off the mat, and see our winter care guide if you'd rather pack it away.

What's the model code for parts?

O77. Note it somewhere — Springfree parts are model-specific, and the O77 came in builds with either 52 or 54 rods, so we'll ask you to count them if you don't have the serial number.
