BERG makes three residential ranges: Favorit, Champion and Elite. All three are built to the same standard of engineering — the differences are in the springs, the mat, the padding, and how long BERG is prepared to guarantee each part.
This guide sets out exactly what differs, using BERG's published figures rather than marketing language, so you can work out which range is worth the money for your family.

1. Springs — where you feel the difference
Favorit: SoloSpring
One galvanised spring per connection point. Solid, reliable and perfectly good for recreational bouncing. Covered for 2 years.
Champion and Elite: TwinSpring
Two springs per connection point in a V-shaped arrangement, angled rather than pulling straight in. The practical effects are a larger sweet spot — more of the mat feels bouncy rather than just the middle — and a softer, deeper landing.
The other benefit is redundancy. When one spring eventually weakens, the second carries the load rather than the mat sagging at that point.
Covered for 5 years on both ranges, against 2 on the Favorit. That's BERG's own judgement on how much longer they last.
Between Champion and Elite the springs are the same. If spring quality is what you're paying for, Champion gets you there.
2. Jump mat — solid or perforated
Favorit: standard mat
Perforated AirFlow mat, UV-treated. Air escapes as you land rather than fighting you, and it dries faster after rain.
Champion and Elite: AirFlow
The same polypropylene, perforated throughout. Air passes through the mat as you land rather than being pushed back at you, which gives a higher jump for the same effort.
Two side effects matter more in Ireland than the bounce does. It dries faster after rain, and wind passes through rather than pushing against it — which is why a perforated mat behaves better on an exposed site.
Champion and Elite use the same AirFlow mat, and both carry a 2-year warranty, same as the Favorit's.
3. Padding — where Elite earns its premium
This is the one place the three ranges genuinely separate.

Favorit to Champion is a real step: half again as thick over the frame, a third wider, and noticeably heavier material. If you're weighing up the two, padding is the clearest thing you get for the money.
Champion to Elite is the same padding with better UV treatment — and two and a half times the warranty. Elite's padding isn't thicker; it's built to survive longer. Padding is the component that takes the weather, and it's usually the first thing to look tired on a trampoline that's been out for a decade.
4. Safety nets
Favorit comes with the Comfort net — self-closing entrance, UV-resistant mesh, curved poles outside the jumping area, 180cm high.
Champion and Elite come with the Deluxe, with a fibreglass top rail that holds the net taut rather than letting it sag over time. Deluxe XL is the same net 30cm taller, at 210cm, and worth it for teenagers or anyone practising tricks.
All three nets carry a 2-year warranty. The self-closing entrance on all of them is worth more in Ireland than it sounds — there's no metal zip to rust, corrode or jam after a wet winter.
5. Frame and warranty
All three frames are hot-dip galvanised inside and out with a powder coat over the top. The difference is what BERG will stand behind:
- Favorit — 8 years with registration, 5 without
- Champion — 13 years with registration, 10 without
- Elite — 13 years with registration, 10 without
Elite uses larger-diameter, thicker-walled tubing than Champion, though both carry the same cover.
Register the trampoline. Three extra years costs you five minutes and a receipt. If you can't find your batch number, ring us and we'll dig it out — it's the single easiest thing you can do to protect the purchase.
Which should you buy?
Favorit if
- The children are young and it's for general play
- Use will be a few times a week rather than daily
- Budget is the deciding factor
- You might move house within the next several years
It's a genuinely good trampoline. Plenty of Irish families buy a Favorit and are still happy with it eight years later.

- You're staying in the house long-term
- You want the TwinSpring bounce and the thicker padding
The step from Favorit to Champion buys you better springs, a better mat, substantially better padding and five extra years of frame warranty. For most families using a trampoline regularly, it's the sensible middle.

Elite if
- You're buying once and keeping it fifteen years or more
- The trampoline will be used hard, daily, by several people
- Padding longevity matters — an exposed site, or you want it looking well in a decade
Be clear about what you're paying for: the springs and mat are the same as Champion's. What's different is the padding's UV treatment and its 5-year warranty, and a heavier frame. If you're keeping it long enough for that to matter, it's worth it. If not, Champion gets you most of the way.

Shapes and installations
In BERG's naming, Grand means oval and Ultim means rectangular. Every range comes round; oval and rectangular vary by range and size.

Common questions
Is Champion worth the step up from Favorit?
If the trampoline will be used most days, yes. You get TwinSpring springs with a 5-year warranty rather than 2, the AirFlow mat, padding that's half again as thick and a third wider, and five more years of frame cover. If use will be occasional and the children are young, Favorit is the sensible buy and we'd say so.
Is Elite worth the step up from Champion?
Only for the padding and the frame. The springs and mat are identical. If you're planning fifteen-plus years of ownership, or the trampoline sits somewhere exposed, the 5-year padding warranty is a real difference. Otherwise Champion is the better value.
Can I upgrade a Favorit later?
No. The springs, mat and frame are matched as a system — you can't fit TwinSpring or an AirFlow mat to a Favorit frame. If you think you'll want Champion features, buy Champion at the outset.
How long do they last in Irish weather?
All three are engineered for year-round outdoor use in northern European conditions. Mats, nets, springs and padding are the wear items and all are individually replaceable — a trampoline rarely dies, it just needs parts. The warranty lengths are the most honest guide BERG gives to relative longevity.
Which range do most people buy?
Champion, by a distance. It's the range where the specification steps up meaningfully and the price hasn't yet.
Do I need InGround or is above ground fine?
Different purposes rather than better and worse. Above ground if you might move, want it up this weekend, or would rather not excavate. InGround if it's a permanent home, the garden's appearance matters, or the site is exposed — a low frame gives the wind very little to catch.
