Universal Trampoline Anchors (8)

Eight heavy-duty galvanised ground anchors for securing a garden trampoline. Irish storms move unanchored trampolines — over a hedge, into a car, through a neighbour's fence. A set of anchors costs a fraction of any of those outcomes and takes about twenty minutes to fit.

Universal fit. Works with BERG, Springfree and any other round, rectangular, oval or square trampoline, including older EXIT and Etan models.

Why these rather than cheaper pegs

12mm with friction-grip ribbing. Thin smooth pegs work their way loose as the ground softens and the trampoline rocks. The ribbing holds in wet soil, which is most Irish soil for most of the year.

Galvanised throughout. These live in the ground permanently, through every winter. Ungalvanised pegs rust through in a season or two and then snap under load, usually during the storm you needed them for.

30cm long. Long enough to reach below the soft topsoil layer into ground that actually holds.

How to fit them

Drive one anchor over the frame at each leg, arch across the tube, angled slightly outward from the trampoline. Eight anchors covers most round trampolines up to 14ft. On an exposed or coastal site, check them after every named storm and re-seat any that have lifted.

Anchoring on a patio, concrete or gravel is a different job — ground stakes won't hold in any of those. Our guide to anchoring on hard surfaces covers what to use instead.

Other uses

The same anchors work for tents, awnings, gazebos, marquees and polytunnels. If you're buying for a trampoline, eight is the right number. For a large marquee you'll want more.
