Local Support for Danu Community Special School Saves the Day
Danu Community Special School recently moved to their new premises at Blanchardstown Road North, and as part of upgrading their equipment for the new premises they invested in two BERG Go Karts, the BERG XL B.Pure Blue BFR - chosen because of its rugged strength and durability.
Danu Community Special School Go-Karts STOLEN
We dealt with Karen the School Secretary throughout the procurement process, so when we received a call from Karen last week telling us that the go karts had been stolen, we were devastated for them.
These go karts are much more than just toys for the children that attend Danu Special School as they help to develop motor skills, co-ordination and are a key resource for occupational therapies.
So while we began working on obtaining replacements, the local community came together en masse to seek to recover the stolen go karts.
And by the time the replacement go karts arrived the stolen go karts had been recovered!
We can't overstate how impressive that it is that the guys were able to recover the go karts, and we're blown away by their support from the local community.
- Parents took to Facebook to get the message out there that the go karts had been stolen, and needed to be recovered,
- Local charitable organisation, Little Seeds stepped up to support the school helping to purchase replacement equipment.
It just goes to show that community spirit in Dublin still exists in a big way, and that when you need help that you might just be surprised by how forthcoming that help could be.
The good news is everyone feels great about the way the school was supported, and the kids of Danu Special School now have four BERG Go Karts to share between them, thus bolstering their resources and offering further opportunities for physical development and fun at the same time.
