Bounce for Autism at Our Lady of Fatima, Wexford

We are delighted to announce that The Irish Society for Autism have donated a new trampoline to Our Lady of Fatima School, Wexford as part of the Bounce for Autism program.

As Principal, Glenda McKeown shares -

Our school was founded in 1968, and it serves the Wexford county area. The children who attend present with Mild general Learning Difficulties. We have 47+ students with Autism. We have a support teacher who offers in-class support and also withdrawal.

Our school is on a very small site, so we are restricted with space. However, we make the very best with any space available, to ensure the needs of all our students are met.

For children with autism, a trampoline would be another excellent strategy in aiding them to regulate, which in turns has a positive knock-on effect. They are settled and ready to focus when returning to the classroom.

The child is central to all that we do in Our Lady of Fatima School. Our aim is to provide a happy and safe environment, thus allowing the child to discover their full potential.
