Will it fit your garden?

Springfree specifies 19ft × 19ft — about 5.8m × 5.8m — for the R132, including clearance.

That's the constraint. It's not a huge amount of ground by rural standards, but it rules out most suburban back gardens once you account for a shed, a patio or a washing line. Measure the flattest clear square you have before anything else.

If you're short of it, the R79 Medium Round needs 16ft × 16ft and is the size most Irish families end up with. If your space is long rather than square, the O92 Large Oval fits an 8ft × 13ft mat into an 11ft × 16ft footprint and may use an awkward garden better.

Springfree rates the 132 sq ft jumping surface as comparable to a 16ft spring trampoline, because a spring model loses a band around the outside to springs and padding that this doesn't have.

What the extra size buys you

More than you'd expect from the numbers. The R132 has 67% more jumping area than the R79, which in practice means the difference between one child bouncing while another waits, and two using it without feeling crowded.

It also changes who the trampoline is for. An 8ft Springfree is a children's trampoline. A 13ft with 78 rods under the mat is something a teenager training for gymnastics uses, and something an adult can use properly for fitness. If you have older children, or you'll be on it yourself, this is the round model that makes sense.

The bounce is gentler than a spring trampoline of equivalent size, which is the Springfree characteristic generally — the rods deflect over a longer travel than a spring compresses. Softer, deeper, less snappy.

Assembly and siting

This is the biggest round model, with 78 rods to fit individually under tension. Allow proper time and two people. Springfree's free BILT app gives 3D step-by-step instructions with voice guidance and is much easier to follow than the paper manual, particularly at the rod stage.

Level ground matters more at this size — a slope that's barely noticeable across 10ft is obvious across 19ft. Our guide to levelling a Springfree on uneven ground covers the options.

Fit ground anchors, and don't treat it as optional at this size. A 9ft 4in enclosure on a 13ft frame presents a lot of surface to an Atlantic gale.

Common questions

Is 19ft × 19ft really necessary?

It's Springfree's own figure and it already accounts for the flexible enclosure. Going tighter means someone can hit a fence through the net. If you're a foot or two short, tell us your measurements and we'll give you a straight answer rather than a sale.

R132 or R79?

Space decides it. If you have the 19ft square, the R132 is the better trampoline by a distance — 67% more jumping area and more suited to older children and adults. If you don't, the R79 is excellent and fits a normal garden.

Round or oval at this size?

The O200 Jumbo Oval gives 200 sq ft and needs 15ft × 22ft — a long rectangle rather than a big square. Which suits you depends entirely on the shape of your garden, not the trampoline.

Can adults use it?

Yes, and it's the round model we'd recommend if adults will be on it regularly. 700kg tested load, and the mat is big enough not to feel constrained. One at a time, as always.

What's the model code for parts?

R132, and it's a G4-generation model only. Worth noting — Springfree parts are model-specific and it's the first thing we'll ask for.
