BERG Playbase Climbing Frames - Available in Green, Coming Soon!

We are excited to bring you some big news for garden adventurers. The beloved BERG PlayBase climbing frame, long known for its sleek all-black design, will from 2026 onwards also be available with a green frame option — so you can choose between black or green to suit your garden aesthetic or personal preference.

New Green Colour Option for BERG PlayBase — Coming in 2026!

At Trampolines Ireland, we believe that play equipment should look as good as it performs — and this new colour choice gives families even more flexibility to personalise their outdoor space.

Why this matters: more choice, more style

Over the years, the PlayBase has earned its reputation as one of BERG’s most elegant, minimalist and multifunctional climbing frames. (Bergtoys) Its clean lines, integrated fun and modern design appeal to families who want something more than a “typical bulky play set.”

Until now, the standard has always been black steel — it’s sleek, neutral and complementary to many gardens. (Bergtoys) But we’ve heard from many of you: sometimes you want a splash of colour, or a look that blends more naturally with greenery or planting. The new green frame finish will give that option.

Think of it this way: two families could pick the same set of accessories (swings, climbing wall, hammock, bars) yet with a different frame colour, create two very distinct looks. One that’s bold, moody and modern (black) — and one that’s more organic, earthy and integrated (green).

What stays the same (and what’s unchanged)

We want to assure you that while the outer frame colour is a new feature, everything you love about the PlayBase remains untouched — in fact, continues to be among the best in the market.

Same Premium Build & Durability

  • The PlayBase frame retains its robust structure, with a tube diameter of 89 mm and patented connectors, engineered for long life and reliability. (Bergtoys)

  • It is still galvanised, anti-corrosion treated, and powder-coated for excellent resistance to weather. (Trampolines Ireland)

  • It still installs without the need for concrete foundations — thanks to its clever underground support system and wide base. (Bergtoys)

Same Sizes & Configurations

  • The PlayBase continues to come in Medium (285 cm width) and Large (380 cm width) formats, both with a depth of 100 cm and height of 245 cm. (Trampolines Ireland)

  • All the same accessory options (swings, climbing walls, nets, bars, hammock, etc.) will remain compatible with either colour. (Bergtoys)

  • The assembly, installation, anchoring methods and accessory click-system remain as documented today. (You can already see the complete assembly instructions on our blog). (Trampolines Ireland)

So, you’re not losing anything — instead you’re gaining an aesthetic option.

When & how the rollout will happen

We expect the green frame variant of the PlayBase to become part of BERG’s standard offering starting in early 2026. (Exact inventory dates may shift slightly, depending on manufacturing lead times, logistics and availability.)

At Trampolines Ireland, we’ll stock both black and green versions side by side. That means from the moment the green frames arrive, you’ll be able to order:

  • A black-frame PlayBase (as before), or

  • A green-frame PlayBase (new option)

You’ll also be able to choose accessories in the same way, with no changes to how you mix and match components.

In the transition period (late 2025), there might be limited availability or pre-order status for green units — we’ll keep you updated via email, on our website and social media.

How to choose — black vs green?

Here are a few tips for selecting the colour that fits your garden and style:

Consideration Black Frame Green Frame
Modern / minimalist gardens Strong contrast, bold lines Might blend more softly, less contrast
Lots of plants / greenery Frame will stand out more Frame may merge into foliage
Colour of accessories / accents Good neutral backdrop for bright swings, ropes Works especially well if accessories are in wood, neutrals, muted tones
Future resale / aesthetic flexibility Black is universally popular Green adds character and uniqueness
Co-ordination with other garden furniture Easier to match with black / metal furniture Better match for wooden, rustic, natural furniture

If you prefer a distinct, architectural look, black might still be your go-to. If you want something more organic or “gardeny,” the new green option will be ideal.

As always, if you’re unsure, our team at Trampolines Ireland can send example photos, swatches, or even help you visualise how a particular colour will look in your space.

What this means for you (our customers)

  • More personalisation — the new option gives you greater control over how your play structure fits your garden.

  • No extra premium — the green frame option will be priced equivalently to the black version (no hidden “colour surcharge,” as far as BERG has indicated).

  • Seamless compatibility — all existing accessories, add-ons and parts will remain fully compatible with either frame colour.

  • Better alignment with trends — demand for outdoor structures that blend with nature is growing, and this green offering helps you move in that direction.

We anticipate many customers will mix and match: for example, a black frame with wooden accent accessories, or a green frame with darker ropes or swings — giving creative leeway in design.

How Trampolines Ireland will support you

To celebrate and support this new option, here’s what you can expect from us:

  1. Early previews & sample photos — as soon as we receive stocks, we’ll post side-by-side photos of black vs green in real gardens so you can see how they look in situ.

  2. Swatch or sample panels — on request, we may provide small swatches or framing samples so you can compare in your setting.

  3. Colour advice & consultation — our sales team can advise based on your garden layout, planting scheme and preferences.

  4. Smooth ordering process — the order experience will list both colour variants clearly; stock levels and lead times will be visible.

  5. Launch offers / bundles — to mark the introduction, we may run limited-time bundle deals or accessory discounts.

We want to ensure your choice is as confident as possible.

A quick refresher: what makes the PlayBase special (and still relevant in 2026)

It’s worth revisiting why the PlayBase continues to be a favourite — and why this new colour option just makes it more versatile.

  • Multifunctional by design
It is not just a climbing frame. The PlayBase is a platform for play, sport, fitness and lounge — combining elements like swings, rings, ropes, pull-up bars, hammocks and more. (Bergtoys)

  • Minimalist, elegant aesthetic
With its clean lines and “subtle presence,” it doesn’t overpower your garden, it complements it. (Bergtoys)

  • Ingenious anchoring
The hidden underground support system means the frame is stable without pouring concrete — less disruption in your garden. (Bergtoys)

  • Durability & weather resistance
Galvanised steel, corrosion protection, powder coating — built to last for years, through Irish weather. (Bergtoys)

  • Expandable / modular
You can reconfigure, swap accessories, grow it with your family — it’s not a static structure. (Bergtoys)

All of that remains exactly the same — now with an added aesthetic choice.

What to do next (if you’re considering one)

If you're thinking of ordering a PlayBase or planning your garden layout, here are a few things you can do now:

  • Measure your available space. Make sure to allow clearance around the frame (allow 1.5 m or more for swinging or active use).

  • Consider overall visual style. Look at your existing deck, plants, fencing, furniture, colour palette. Would black or green frame better harmonise?

  • Check which accessories you plan to use (swings, climbing wall, hammock, bars). All work with both colours.

  • Stay tuned — when new stock arrives, ask us for sample photos or even a “live in-garden” demo if possible.

  • If you have an existing PlayBase (black), and later want to match with green expansions, do check with us — BERG may offer parts or accessories in both finishes to match.
